The Poet~

Poetry is the words of the inner soul,
the air of the brain,
the blood of the heart,
the pen of feelings.

  • Poetry and its Importance (anamasion.wordpress.com)
A lifetime or more could be spent reading poems. But in our world, right now, only a few select people would be mentioned. Poets such as Edgar Allan Poe, Shakespeare, maybe J.R.R. Tolkein, perhaps an Emily Dickinson, or Robert Frost. All great poets in their own right, but that’s only five poets. Upon looking up the list of poets on the Poetry Foundation website, there were 2.982 poets in the list. Most people could only name a small few.

Poets will pour their heart and soul into a poem; their only escape is to express themselves with poetry. But what use is it to celebrate or cry out in pain if no one else can hear it?

Where are the new poets of outrage from a section of society that feels trapped in a cage? Tell us of your outrage in poetic phrase. I crave a brave poet within whom brews, a … … attitude that screams “old poetry, old news”
  • Rent-A-Poet (vicklinde.wordpress.com)
I’ve been selling custom written poetry for a couple of years now, I love the connection to people and making sure they have a piece of writing that they love. However, it’s a pretty difficult thing to do over the internet, and is much better when it’s immediate and in person.
  • Is Poetry Really That Vibrant in Our Society? (kagayipeter.wordpress.com)
there has been a recent upsurge for the art in Kampala and here I hasten to declare that I think it is a joke compared to what the scene was in the sixties and seventies. Imagine Chinua Achebe, Wole Soyinka, Ama Ata Aidoo, and Christopher Okigbo in the same room somewhere in Uganda; or Nuruddin Farrah, Ali Mazrui, David Rubadiri, Okello Oculi, John Ruganda, Peter Nazareth, Paul Theroux, V.S. Naipaul, Ngugi wa’ Thiongo all choosing Uganda as their destination for finding the muse.
