Americans wrongly informed about situation in Europe

Europeans did know already that the American press was not always so good informing their public, placing cities in wrong countries or placing the country on a wrong place on the map. from the bigger television station you would hope they would do some proper research and would try to inform their public rightly.

Though once more we saw Fox News telling absurdities of Europe.
Presenters and guests had last week said several times that in European countries such as England and France there are areas where only Muslims are allowed to come and where there would be Muslim police on the streets taking care Sharia applies. This is not only ridiculous, but would also frighten American tourists, certainly when we saw a Fox presentator telling those police forces did not mind wounding people who would not be closed properly according to Islamic law.

How could Steve Emerson, as professional U.S. television commentator tell such fantasies as if they where actually true? No wonder the way Fox presented it on Jan. 11 set off a firestorm in Britain.

As a person living in Europe, coming regularly in Paris, having been in Birmingham and London a few months ago and having Christian brothers and sisters living  in Paris and Birmingham, we do know nothing of such  places where “non-Muslims just simply don’t go in.” Though I do know, like in every cosmopolitan there are zones which are not so safe to walk alone at certain times of the (day or) night, but not as such for Muslim attacks. Also for the 759 terrorist attacks in 2013 in our regions there where only two on religious grounds of which one by Muslims.

In Europe we also ourselves do not know anything of some “religious police” which would beat people who don’t wear “religious Muslim attire.”

Prime Minister David Cameron called Emerson “a complete idiot,” and Emerson quickly backtracked, admitting he had made “an inexcusable error.” British social media had a field day, with Twitter posts showing “sharia-compliant” cloth-covered jars of homemade jam and photoshopped images of mosques dominating the Birmingham skyline.

The American public should ask themselves questions about such news stations where there are so called “terrorist experts” telling absurdities where nothing is right of. I wonder where Steven Emerson gets his information from and if he ever was on the places he discusses. But they should ask themselves also questions about the integrity of their governors.

The Indian-American Republican governor of Louisiana and presumptive presidential candidate, governor Bobby Jindal, who went to a European capital to deliver a speech in which he attacks an Illinois native turned lawyer turned Arkansas first lady turned U.S.  first lady turned New York senator turned secretary of state over her “mindless naivete” wanting to “empathize” with the U.S. its enemies.

This American governor beliefs that the West needs to change its thinking regarding radical Islam, veering away from what he sees as the permissive, cultural relativism being practised in countries such as France. He said:

“I believe it is because radical Islamists have been given too wide a berth to establish their own nation within a nation,”

I would agree that we have been much too open and receiving and that many politicians did give to many advances or special opportunities, like having state funded Arabic lessons, instead of demanding that those immigrants should have to learn the language of the guest country first.

To tell the American public that 16% of the French population would support ISIS is not only fooling the American viewers it is discrediting the French and European public and lots, not to say the majority, of Muslims who are against ISIS.

Having extreme right people to distort the situation or man as Nigel Farage from UKIP letting them warn viewers of Fox News that Western societies are threatened by a “fifth column living within our own countries” that is “out to destroy our whole civilisation and our way of life” is doing even more damage to the truth.

Jindal might have seen France in a  travesty, but as civilian we did not notice those things this governor wants his people to believe. Perhaps he wants to frighten them enough to make sure the American government can put in more money in so called security and protection programs.

Jindal, who converted from Hinduism to Catholicism as a teenager, saying

“In my country, Christianity is the largest religion, and we require exactly no one to conform to it. And we do not discriminate against anyone who does not conform to it. It’s called freedom.”

to us gave the impression he was discriminating people with an other religion than his and trying to blacken them.

In remarks made before at the Henry Jackson Society, Jindal contended that Muslim immigrants in places like England and France are looking to

“colonize Western countries, because setting up your own enclave and demanding recognition of a no-go zone are exactly that.”

No wonder Minister David Cameron was “choked on his porridge” when he heard it floated during a Fox News broadcast in regards to the city of Birmingham.

We also did not see any serious background research from the Fox reporter and no additional comment from the studio, to give their viewers a more correct insight. For the European public it has also taken all credit for the rest of the news. We wonder what is true of them telling about “no go zones” in the United States. what about the “Muslim enclaves” in the U.S., asserting that cities like Redhouse, VA, Commerce, GA, and Dearborn, MI are “truly no go zones” with gated terrorist training camps and armed guards?

Totally absurd again was another guest who told Neil Cavuto on Friday that European countries should be putting

“razor-wire around those no go zones, you turn off the water and then as they come out you catalog them.”

He also warned that similar no go zones governed by sharia law are spreading across the U.S.

After several European politicians having mad a complaint to Fox, we could also see Fox News issuing an unusual on-air apology on Saturday night for having allowed its anchors and guests to repeat the false claim that there are Muslim-only “no-go zones” in European countries like England and France that are not under the control of the state and are ruled according to Shariah law.

It was up to Fox Report host Julie Banderas to bring the excuses, which to me did not look sincere, though she said that

“over the course of this last week, we have made some regrettable errors on air regarding the Muslim population in Europe, particularly with regard to England and France.”

The Fox News correction for reports that there are “no-go zones” off-limits to non-Muslims in Europe continued

“Now this applies especially to discussions of so-called no-go zones, areas where non-Muslims allegedly are not allowed in and police supposedly won’t go,”

“To be clear, there is no formal designation of these zones in either country and no credible information to support the assertion that there are specific areas in these countries that exclude individuals based solely on their religion.”

Yann Barthès, the host of Le Petit Journal, showed video of a Fox guest telling Elisabeth Hasselbeck he’s been to some of these areas where non-Muslims supposedly aren’t allowed, and they feel just as dangerous as Iran or Afghanistan.

Barthès referred to them as “Barbie and Ken,” and laughed at them for citing a poll about French support of ISIS that was discredited already by The Washington Post.

And then, Barthès said, the “credibility of the two Fox News clowns disappeared when they showed a map of Paris with some ‘no-go zones.’” And he proceeded to mock Fox by sending staffers out into the streets of these supposedly dangerous areas to find… well… nothing terribly threatening.”

Problem with the news carriage of Fox and lies about what is going on in Europe is that we do see a lot of bloggers accepting everything Fox tells them. They see to do themselves no homework, and take over this mal-information or false reporting, duplicating it without background check, and as such creating unfounded fear and giving their politicians more power to use their tax money to fund the weapon sector, instead of using it for more important social measures.

I am curious to hear from people living in the United States about the News Coverage and how they look at American news broadcastings. They are welcome to present their view underneath in the “Comments”

I myself do not belief much of the coverage by Fox. CNN and Al-Jazeera (Europe, East Asia and America) get my attention next to the British, Belgian and Dutch news channels.

Wayne Simmons also perpetuated the debunked myth that there are “no-go zones” across Europe that are under the total control of Muslims. He also repeated a claim often made by right-wing Islamophobes that there are 19 Muslim paramilitary facilities in the United States training extremists to strike American targets.Perhaps Fox News should also apologize for that ridiculous claim, as well as the multiple lies the network has propagated over the years in an effort to drum up hatred of liberals and President Obama. Or an apology to Dish Network for falsely accusing them of censorship? Or an apology for all the Ebola lies? He then suggested surrounding such zones with razor wire and shutting off water access to the zones to force Muslims to come out and be placed on a list.
