Refurbished ecclesia site

In October the United Kingdom Christadelphians came together to discuss the diminishing amount of believers and dwindling numbers of Christadelphians.

For some years now I also try to proclaim the Good News and build up a Christadelphian community in Belgium but encounter many difficulties in spreading the faith. For 2013-2014 we had the scourge of time by trying the different groups of Christadelphians coming to join hands and working together. A pity I failed. A real shame that personal preferences stand in the way of a more general importance and willingness to aim all together for the same goal to get unity of the Body of Christ.

At that time of trying to come to reconciliation between different disputing parties several Christadelphians demanded to have taken articles about them and their organisation or ecclesia away from my website Christadelphian World because they would not liked to be associated or to be on the same platform as other Christadelphians. Having taken away so many articles from that site there was no use any more to call it Christadelphian World and therefore I changed the name to “Our World“.

Some moths later the contacts with certain groups has not ameliorated though at more and more places Christadelphians themselves also became aware that there is a structural and communicative problem in our society. Like the mainline churches we do have difficulties to bring people to our churches. And in our own communities the members are getting older, falling asleep, leaving this world for what it is, becoming more secular and less and less interested in the word of God.

For months now, I have tried to get some more brothers and sisters interested to join forces, to bring out two lifestyle magazines and to bring different articles into the focus about our way of life and the Way God wants. But it seems I am left alone or with not many people wanting to share their notes and thoughts.

To be able to grow I believe we may not exclude us from the world. An isolation from the world may perhaps protect us from defilement or some bad things entering our community but shall also impede others to come to get to know us or to come to visit our community. We should open our doors to welcome others who are looking or who have questions about faith, but also should have an eye for others in the Body in Christ and see what problems they might have and what for solutions they are looking for and also are finding so. The brothers and sisters in Christ like any other person in this world needs  companionship and comradery but should also feel they are not alone in their and my faith. They like in many more faith groups in christianity they should Overcome division with core values.

I think we all can learn from others and should try to listen to them and be willing to share their thoughts also. For that reason I had already created the Guestspeaker and started From Guestwriters and the opening for guest-writings at Stepping Toes.

With the debate in October looking at the UK ecclesiae I thought it better to share the voices of non-Christadelphians as well at our ecclesia site, so that we could see how they went about their small churches. To have them their say on my sites, having the readers to see that it is not necessary a voice of the same spirit as us, I presented the Guestspeaker voice also on our ecclesia site. But because I also wanted to give an hearing to my own personal frustration and person opinion, after several years I made it visible on the site when I would talk from my own point of view instead of from the Christadelphian standpoint. For this reason the author and the postings of the personal views had to be mastered and should have to be monitored to be seen separately.

The old WordPress theme ‘Fadthatstic’ was not able to show up the different authors. Therefore I had to choose a new theme and refurbish the ecclesia site. Attracting a new look I do hope the readers shall come to like it. Until now nobody reacted yet on the new looks.

May I invite you to come and have a look and to express your opinion?

In my search for nice theme I ended up by 7 themes of which I doubted for a while between four

  1. Suburbia
  2. The Origin
  3. Cerauno
  4. The Journalist

for those who did not know the old theme (Fadthastic)

Christadelphian Ecclesia About-Over Nov. 14 11.45The present theme (Cerauno)

Renewed Christadelphian Ecclesia site (since 2015 November 8)

Renewed Christadelphian Ecclesia site (Cerauno theme, since 2015 November 8)

Renewed Christadelphian ecclesia site from November 2-7, 2015 (Cerauno theme)

Renewed Christadelphian ecclesia site from November 2-7, 2015 (Cerauno theme variation with green on Novemer 2)

At the end the top Cerauno theme won for me from the “Origin” theme underneath, because the text seemed to read more easier on the grey background, whilst in the Origin them the background for the letters could not be changed; only the side background I could vary.)

The big competitor between the Cerauno theme and The Journalist theme for the Belgian Christadelphian Ecclesia website

The Origin: The big competitor between the Cerauno theme and The Journalist theme for the Belgian Christadelphian Ecclesia website

Next to the big competitor and the Cerauno theme the other possible choice was The Journalist theme for the Belgian Christadelphian Ecclesia website

an other possibility but less favoured by me is the Publication theme

The 2nd competitor between the Cerauno theme and The Journalist theme for the Belgian Christadelphian Ecclesia website

Suburbia The 2nd competitor between the Cerauno theme and The Journalist theme for the Belgian Christadelphian Ecclesia website

I am still doubting between

  1. Cerauno
  2. The Journalist
  3. Origin
  4. Suburbia

Therefore if you have a preference, please do let me know. At the moment I went for Cerauno where I started first of without the featured pictures, but included that now, so that above the title can come a changing photograph showing a certain mood or attracting to a certain subject.

Looking forward to hearing your opinion.

Yours truly,

Marcus
