Classified material federal agents found at Mar-a-Lago, according to Trump been planted there
When are the Trump admirers going to see who Donald Trump really is and what he is really doing?
Former President Donald Trump repeatedly invoked his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination on Wednesday August 10, during a deposition by New York Attorney General Letitia James’ office. James is investigating whether Trump and his company misled lenders, insurers, and tax authorities about the value of his properties.
As we often see with criminals, they invoke the right to remain silent when asked to say or to reply to certain accusations or questions. Also 76-year-old Trump said in a statement that he
“declined to answer the questions under the rights and privileges afforded to every citizen under the United States Constitution,”
on the advice of his lawyers. Before the deposition, Trump said on social media that the questioning would be
“a continuation of the greatest Witch Hunt in U.S. history! My great company, and myself, are being attacked from all sides. Banana Republic!” [CNN]
On Monday August the 8th, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents raided Donald Trump his Mar-a-Lago estate and club in Palm Beach, Florida, and the homeowner was not pleased at all, that the FBI
“even broke into my safe!”
The search came as the Justice Department intensifies its parallel investigation into Trump’s effort to stay in office despite his election loss.
The (ex) 45th president of the United States who managed to bring a lot of division in those states, took to his Truth Social platform on Sunday August the 14th, to blast the FBI over Monday’s raid on Mar-a-Lago.
“The FBI has a long and unrelenting history of being corrupt … In the modern era, nothing has changed except that it has gotten far worse,”
Trump ‘truthed’. According to him, the witch-hunt against him is getting worse and the nation that is corrupted by those who are against the truth of the elections tries everything to get at him.
Trump said the raid was unnecessary because he was cooperating with federal agencies, claiming it was meant to discourage him from running for president in 2024.
“Such an assault could only take place in broken, Third-World Countries,”
he said. Trump allies issued calls to “defund” the FBI.
“The whole World was watching as the FBI rummaged through the house, including the former First Lady’s closets (and clothing!), alone and unchecked,”
Though Trump said they would not find anything, and he would do everything to work with them, lots of boxes and a huge amount of papers were confiscated. He also claimed that
“there was no way of knowing”
if the classified material federal agents took from Mar-a-Lago had been planted there. The FBI reportedly recovered 11 sets of classified documents during its Monday raid of former President Donald Trump’s Florida mansion.
Normally “top secret” documents are not allowed to leave the White House, though among the 11 sets were also documents found marked “top secret,” as well as those meant to be available only in designated government facilities. The FBI agents removed about 20 boxes of items, including binders of photos, a handwritten note, and the executive grant of clemency for Roger Stone, according to the inventory list. The list also details how agents recovered four sets of top-secret documents, three sets of secret documents, and three sets of confidential documents. It additionally alludes to another set marked “top secret/SCI,” a higher level of classification.
Since agents searched former President Donald Trump’s Florida home at the beginning of August the FBI has received increasing threats and an armed man wearing body armour fired a nail gun in a failed attempt to “breach the Visitor Screening Facility” at the FBI’s Cincinnati, Ohio, office Thursday August 11. Authorities identified the suspect as Ricky Shiffer, 42, and said they were investigating whether he had been in Washington shortly before the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack.
Everyone from the Republican National Committee to potential 2024 presidential primary rivals like Florida Governor Ron DeSantis echoed Trump’s assertion that the Justice Department’s actions were politically motivated. Right-wing commentator Candace Owens called for the FBI to be “legally and formally dissolved” after they raided Donald Trump’s home in Mar-a-Lago.
Republican congressional candidate Lavern Spicer tweeted
“Biden’s FBI is no better than Hitler’s Gestapo at this point”
concerning made investigations by the government.
People were quick to call Spicer out for her Gestapo comparison, given that the Nazi secret police used brutal interrogation methods such as torture and murder of prisoners.
President Joe Biden did not know such a ‘home invasion’ would go take place. White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters that President Biden was not briefed in advance about plans for the unprecedented search of a former president’s home.
“We learned about this, the president learned about this, just like you all did, through the public reports,”
Jean-Pierre said. Thus, it was not as Trump pretended, that the current president (illegitimate according to Trump) would have ordered the searches, in which case the FBI would have planted documents in Trump’s villa.
Strange so many Trump fans do not question why that man does not want to answer certain questions, like the ones about his businesses. His refusal to respond substantively could determine the course of the three-year civil investigation into whether the former president fraudulently inflated the value of his assets to secure loans and other benefits. He has long dismissed the inquiry but was compelled to sit for questioning under oath after multiple judges ruled against him this spring. Like we are used to him, as a small kid he blames others, lawyers, prosecutors and the news media, to target him.
New York State attorney general, Letitia James is now left with a crucial decision: whether to sue Trump or seek a settlement that could extract a significant financial penalty. And while declining to answer questions might have offered the safest route for the former president, it could strengthen the attorney general’s hand in the weeks to come.
It is good to notice some Republicans are showing good sense. Liz Cheney, the House representative from Wyoming who is the highest-profile Republican rejects Trump’s false claim that the 2020 election was stolen from him. She also was particularly loathsome to Trump for her role as the vice chair of the Congressional committee investigating the storming of the US Capitol by his supporters on Jan. 6, 2021. She repeatedly called the former president a threat to American democracy, for failing to concede defeat to Joe Biden and for encouraging the rioters. Following her landslide loss, Cheney said she would do “whatever it takes” to block Trump’s path back to the White House and is considering a run for president.
Also, Former Vice President Mike Pence said he would give “due consideration” to testifying before the House Committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021 insurrection and criticized Republicans for attacking the FBI over the search of Trump’s Florida home. Although
“it would be unprecedented in history for a vice president to be summoned to testify on Capitol Hill.”
he is ready to give his own interpretation of the facts and to show the Americans what danger there exists for the United States of America if that man without conscience or scruples can continue his work.
In the meantime, former President Donald Trump hurts the GOP.
Trump’s lawyers asked a federal judge on MondayAugust 22, to freeze the FBI’s review of over 300 classified documents seized from Mr Trump’s Mar-a-Lago palace in Florida. The suit alleges that the raid on his residence was unnecessary and unprecedented and that the law is being used as a weapon for political purposes.
He also says the special master, a US term for an official appointed by a judge to oversee particular tasks, should determine which documents should not be disclosed as they are covered by executive privilege — though no former president has ever asserted this privilege, which allows presidents to withhold information from the public, meaning such a move could face a Supreme Court challenge. The special master, a third-party attorney, will be tasked with reviewing the documents taken from Mar-a-Lago and returning to Trump any records that fall outside the scope of the search warrant that prompted the raid. Cannon also told the Justice Department to provide her with more information about the classified records taken from the former president’s residence.
While Trump returned 15 boxes with 100 classified documents, including some with the highest-level classification, in January, the FBI seized more than 20 additional boxes in its Aug. 8 search of his Mar-a-Lago residence.
A special “filter team” which aimed to sift out documents criminal investigators should not view,
“identified a limited set of materials that potentially contain attorney-client privileged information,”
the DOJ said in the filing, adding that the flagged papers will be processed according to procedures laid out in court documents. The news could disrupt Trump‘s effort to have a court appoint an independent special master to review the documents.
In the same old dirty-talking way, Trump is now trying to shift the spotlight from him to others. He told people within his circle that he had gleaned illicit details of Mr Macron’s “naughty ways” that “not very many people know” through “intelligence” he had seen or been briefed on, according to Rolling Stone.
Mr Trump is known for spreading rumours, conspiracy theories – and even lies, and one source said:
“It is often hard to tell if he’s bull—–ing or not.”
Then it is also noticeable that Trump is not the stupidest and tries to prepare some things well. The White House records that former President Donald Trump held at his Florida home may have been concealed or removed before an FBI visit in June, suggesting possible attempts to obstruct the investigation, the US Department of Justice said. Its assertion was a response to Trump’s lawsuit seeking the appointment of a “special master” to review the documents.
It got more than the time that Biden spoke out. On Tuesday August 30, he defended the FBI and criticised Republicans who have failed to condemn the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack by a mob of then-President Donald Trump‘s supporters.
Very calmly he dared to say what is on so many lips of decent people
“You can’t be pro–law enforcement and pro-insurrection,”
For Biden it is also “sickening” to see people calling to “defund” the FBI over its search for improperly retained and highly classified documents at Trump‘s Mar-a-Lago home in Florida on Aug. 8. Though Trump always claimed not to have any papers taken home with him, one should see how many papers were found in his home which should never have been there.
Biden also said that warning of “blood on the street” took partisan rancour to a dangerous new level, an apparent response to Sen. Lindsey Graham‘s (R-S.C.), recent prediction there would be “riots in the street” if Trump is prosecuted for mishandling classified documents. It is incredible there are more than 100 classified records, clearly marked “SECRET” and “TOP SECRET” on the front in giant letters.
One of the documents in the photograph was marked “HCS-P SI TK”.
Its “HCS” classification relates to human intelligence, meaning it may have contained information from US spies overseas.
The “TK” classification covers top secret imagery intelligence from spy satellites.
An “SI” classification visible on one document refers to communications intelligence, including online or telephone surveillance.
Clearly, all material which when it would come in other hands could bring the American nation as well as American spies in danger.
On 1 September, Biden finally tried to make it clear to the American public how important it is that everyone comes to realise what a danger that person is to the American nation, but also to the world. He sought to stoke US voters’ outrage over what Democrats call the extremism of Donald Trump and his supporters ahead of congressional midterm elections in November. In a prime-time address to the nation, he went to some lengths to distinguish
“the majority of Republicans”
who support the former president and as a result have put as a result democracy
For the present president, it is clear there has something to be done to avoid the nation would come into more danger. It must become clear that people should come to see that American democracy is in grave peril by Republican forces loyal to Donald Trump who “fan the flames” of political violence in pursuit of power at any cost.
“Donald Trump and the Maga Republicans represent an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our Republic,”
Biden said in remarks delivered at Independence Hall, Philadelphia. Though he is aware that not all Republicans are such extremists it is time they show their face and make sure where they want to stand and protect democracy. It are the Trump Republicans who
“thrive on chaos”
“don’t respect the constitution”
or the rule of law. They
“promote authoritarian leaders and they fan the flames of political violence.”
He also finds that people should come to see that their belief that there are only two possible outcomes to an election:
either they win or they were cheated
is not the right attitude for a democratic nation.
“You can’t love your country only when you win,”
Biden said to thundering applause.
